Paul Shore: ManhattoLand + Left-Handed Year.
Our First In-Person Exhibition Opens November 2 with a Reception November 5.
“Drawing keeps me sane. And that was particularly true during the pandemic.”1
The fruits of Paul Shore’s pandemic productivity2 will be on view starting November 2 in our first in-person exhibition, a co-production with C. G. Boerner. Shore will exhibit two bodies of work: ManhattoLand and Left-Handed Year, two long-term projects that concluded over the time of the pandemic.
ManhattoLand is “a portrait of Manhattan that I finished early in the summer of 2020” — 531 works comprising drawings, prints, and sculptures, with catalogue available.3 Left-Handed Year includes “portraits and drawings of sculptures that I drew
with my non-dominant hand for an entire year, from April 2020 to April 2021.” Both series are a welcome reminder of the power of resilience in art and the city.
Both series will be on view at the Blackburn 20|20 Gallery on the fifth floor of the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, 323 W 39th St., New York. The exhibition runs from November 2 through 20, 2021, from noon to 6 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
Masks and proof of vaccination are required for entry.
Please join us for an opening reception on Friday, November 5th, from 4 to 8 pm. The artist will be present.
Selections from ManhattoLand available from Jonathan Miller Spies Fine Art.
